A tool to view the relationship between Living and Working everywhere in America
2019

We created a tool to explore the commuting patterns in America in 2019. This interactive web map uses open data to visualize the connections between living and working. Upon selecting a block on the map, a 15-minute walkshed is generated around that point to create a collection basin that sees workers in that area. Upon zooming out, we can see where all of those workers live in the region or nation. Reversing the formula, we can select a collection basin for residents and zoom out to see where they work.
